Netball Australia announces new broadcast deal

Netball Australia, in conjunction with FOX SPORTS and Network Ten, has announced a new Australian deal which will see more live netball broadcast than ever before.
The multi-platform deal will see Australian Diamonds international Tests and all 72 games of the ANZ Championship, including the new Conference Finals and ANZ Championship Finals Series, broadcast on FOX SPORTS and ONE via Network Ten for the next two years.
The new deal sits alongside FOX SPORTS and Network Ten’s partnership to broadcast the Netball World Cup SYDNEY 2015 in August.
“FOX SPORTS and Network Ten will take netball to more people than ever before,” Netball Australia CEO Kate Palmer said.
“In a landmark year for netball, this new broadcast deal positions the sport to ensure that more people are watching netball and attending games, that interest in netball continues to grow and athletes become better known and more connected with fans.
“This will have not only have an impact on our profile but also increase the number of participants across all forms of the game. It’s important for the health of the netball community and highlights the pathway for players across our system from ANZ NetSetGO to Diamonds.”
The sport returns to Network Ten for the first time since 2012. The free-to-air broadcaster previously held the Australian rights for four years from 2009 – 2012.
Network Ten Head of Sport, David Barham, said: “We are delighted to be returning the ANZ Championship to free-to-air television in 2015.
“This deal further demonstrates Network Ten’s commitment to live sport and is an important platform for women’s sport in Australia. The ANZ Championship showcases the best netballers in the world to fans all over the country.”New Australian broadcast deal announced
